Dr. Johnson has been practicing orthodontics in Colorado Springs for over 15 years. Since 2005, he has exclusively focused on orthodontics and is passionate about creating a fun, upbeat, and professional experience for his patients. He loves making people smile just as much as he enjoys being outside.
He believes in the power of orthodontics to transform not just smiles, but lives — and there’s nothing better than watching a patient’s self-esteem grow through treatment. He strives to stay on the leading edge of technology and techniques by continually advancing his education. Dr. Johnson graduated at the top of his class at Baylor and was one of a select few accepted into the University of Nebraska’s prestigious orthodontic residency program. He is a board-certified orthodontist and committed to lifelong learning.
"As a child, I tried many sports. I was looking for a challenge, a sense of teamwork, and something that I simply loved doing. At 8 years old, I joined a swim team with my friend Josh. After learning the four swim strokes, lots of practice, and spending time with my team, I discovered my love for this sport. It wasn’t long until our team started swimming competitively at meets.
There is a day that stands out clearly in my memory of those times. I had just finished a race and I met with my coach. She told me, “You need to race with passion.” To inspire me, she told me about a new song (at the time), Eye of the Tiger by Survivor, also from the movie Rocky. From that day forward, Eye of the Tiger has been my hype song and the tiger has become symbolic in my life. I swam for years and the image of the tiger in my mind helped me focus on practice and competition. I have used this drive in all aspects of my life and career as an orthodontist. It has driven me to live a life and have a career that I am passionate about. Eye of the Tiger.

Dr. Johnson is passionate about providing high-quality orthodontic care using the latest innovations in the field, combining clinical excellence with a warm, friendly atmosphere where patients feel comfortable and confident.
Dr. Johnson grew up in Utah and now calls Colorado Springs home. He and his wife have three daughters and one son. As a family, they love spending time outdoors and enjoying everything Colorado has to offer.

Dr. Johnson and his staff have been amazing! My son had an expander put in and a retainer made. He is now in a waiting period for braces until his adult teeth come in before getting braces. We’ve had to come in every 6 months for a check-in to see when his teeth are ready. My son is always excited to go in (mostly because he can play video games in the waiting room and gets an ice cream treat on the way out). I feel that Dr. Johnson has never pushed something on us that my son doesn’t need. I will definitely bring my younger son to Dr. Johnson when he’s old enough to start the braces process. Heck! I’m even considering getting braces for myself!Update-my son finished his braces treatment. We’re really happy with the results! We’ll definitely be back when it’s time for the youngest kid to get braces.
